A Typical Day at SMR
Learn more about the recreational activities

We host weeklong and extended weekend retreats for families, giving them a chance to slow down and consider how they want to invest their lives in light of God's design. During these retreats, we provide each family with their own cabin, all the meals, and a schedule which includes interactive Bible study, fun family activities, a children’s program, and plenty of free time to enjoy the available recreational activities and surrounding area.

Our family retreats are designed for groups of families that intend to “do life together.” These could be families from your Bible study, small group, neighborhood, or even extended family. We encourage you to consider coming on a retreat alongside other families with whom you would like to walk the road of life, with other families that are essentially aiming for the same target in life.

We realize for some families there are circumstances that make it difficult to come with another family. If you would like to come for a retreat with just your own family, we have special weeks set aside for your family as well. You will have the opportunity to spend time with other families from around the country.

For your planning purposes, the normal arrival window is between 3 - 6 pm on the first day of your retreat. For 5 and 6 night retreats we will be finished around 10:30 am on the final day. For 4 night retreats we will finish around 1:00 pm on the final day. As you make travel arrangements, it is good to keep in mind that the curriculum and activities are spread throughout the entire retreat so leaving early or arriving late is something we try to avoid.  We've found that not only does your family miss out but that it can decrease the discussion and relationships with other families.  Please let us know if you have questions and if we can assist in your travel planning.
